About the instrument
A small tool for
a large network.
Pathmeter is an independent endpoint for repeatable, understandable browser-level measurements. It is intentionally narrow: one route, a few payloads and no account system.
The useful question is not “is the internet fast?” It is “how does this path behave right now?”
The public internet is a chain of local links, provider networks, exchange points and destination infrastructure. A single global quality score hides that structure. Pathmeter keeps the destination explicit and the method visible.
The project uses standard browser APIs and generated files. It does not install software, change network settings or run a background test.

Privacy by absence
The simplest personal-data policy is to avoid collecting personal data for the measurement.
